The championship was held at the Crucible theatre in Sheffield. It started on May 8, 2024 and finished on May 12, 2024. Jimmy White was the defending Champion. All the detailed results are on snooker.org. You will also find reports on each session on this blog.
This edition featured several “Crucible” debutants…
Tessa Davidson the Women’s Seniors snooker champion attracted a lot of praise in the media room, and from other competitors. Although she was beaten by the eventual champion Igor Figueiredo, she impressed both by her snooker skills and her ability to handle the occasion

Dechawat Poomjaeng probably doesn’t need any introduction… the extravert Thai may be a bit crazy but he can play and is hugely entertaining … although Darren Morgan, who he beat in the first round, may not agree 😇

Tyson Crinis, the Australian Seniors Champion, was given a hard task … playing the opening match against the vastly experienced Ken Doherty.

My friend Andrew Norman … a cream of a man, a very good player and an excellent, very patient coach. Andrew was watched by his wife and young son Elliott. He nearly beat Jimmy White here and probably would have if he wasn’t a bit overawed by the occasion and the surroundings

And the eventual champion himself … Igor Figueiredo!

We also had a Crucible debutant in the white gloves … Mark Beale! He acquitted himself perfectly and it was a well deserved reward and recognition for all his hard work in the 900 during the whole season!

And here is the giant gallery of my fav images taken during the Championship…
