In the evening, the final was played in front of an absolutely packed Goffs arena. Both players got a tremendous reception. Eventually experience prevailed, as Jimmy White beat Rodney Goggins by 4-1. Jimmy finished the match with a beautiful 96. Rodney was understandably disappointed, but really, he did give an excellent account of himself. For someone who has never been in that situation, playing a final in front of a packed house, in Goffs, can be intimidating.
Of course, on the Finals day also, the fans had the opportunity to meet the players and officials.
